The boys were very excited that grandpa and uncle Caleb came down too!

We decided to drive to New Mexico to go hiking and cave exploring…

But we got a HUGE surprise… about 8 inches if I remember right.  So we turned around and headed back home after taking 13 hours in the car total.  We got there only to find out that the cave was closed due to the snow.  I guess we are Northerners.

The kids got to make a birthday cake to celebrate Christ’s birth.  I showed them what to do and…

they went to town!

It was a fun weekend and they are looking forward to going to Grandma E’s house in March.

Dear family and friends

What a year of changes God has brought our family!  So many blessings!  Our household has grown by 2 this year!  Yes, 2!  We have been blessed with the birth of our son, Calvin, July 11th.  He is such a sweet, content little boy!  One month after his birth the kids welcomed Susie.  Susie is a 6 year old lab/border collie dog.  She is well loved as well.  Even Jim likes her.  Another change this year for our family is our state location.  For about 1 year Jim and I have considered other job possibilities and with the changes in Medicare from the Obamacare law, Jim felt he shouldn’t stay with Nursing Home Physical Therapy.  We started looking at jobs in the spring and nothing with benefits that was even comparable was in the Omaha area.  We also looked in WI, by Jim’s family, AZ and TX.  After MANY interviews and a few offers we chose a job in TX (City omitted due to website).  1 month after our sweet Calvin’s birth we headed to Texas in a moving van and moved into our new home.

Josiah (5) has been growing up fast.  He is currently in 1st grade and is doing well.  He loved playing soccer this spring and this fall.  He is in love with Susie and enjoyed camping and going to college games with daddy.  He loves to learn and experiment with how things work.  He is currently tackling reading and is already trying to convince Jim to do things like 4-wheeling and other extreme sports.

Eva (3) is loving life.  She is counting down the days until she can play soccer on a team as well.  She is talking more and more as she had speech therapy most of the year.  She loves running around with her big brother.  She is looking forward to starting pre-school next fall.  She saw her new cardiologist in Oct. and she is still healthy and is doing great.  We now go in yearly.

Annalise (1) is such a fun kid to watch.  I tell people who meet her that she is 1, going on 5.  She thinks she is such a little adult.  She loves playing with her baby doll, kitchen toy dishes and play food, reading books and helping parent the other kids.  She is such a little mommy!  She is also ahead in her “homework” like Josiah.  She can count to 8 with very little assistance.

Calvin (July ’11) is a sweet little boy who is such a big reminder of Josiah.  He loves his big brother and enjoys having many ‘conversations’ with his brother.  He also loves watching his sisters… from a distance.  He already wants solid foods and has a sweet smile that he is already realizing works on mommies/girls everywhere.  He is a mommy’s boy, at the moment, but he loves watching football with daddy, so I don’t think that will last long.

Jim loves his new job and is thankful he left when he did.  He loves TX and we both are very happy to find a good church family down here.  It is nice to finally be able to meet him for lunch!  He is keeping busy fixing up our country acreage and is looking forward to having it all done.

I am keeping busy.  A wonderful husband, 4 kids and a dog will keep any mom moving.  That is pretty much my life right now.  May not seem like a lot, but I love it!
