Glorifying God as a family

hand-eye coordination March 26, 2009

Filed under: Jim, Josiah David, Traci — jimbaxa @ 12:39 pm

026 I am a lot like my dad… I love sports, cheese, playing outside, tackling, eating, reading and I even have my daddy’s humor.  I am also like my mom in that I love animals and have her coordination skills.  I was walking and tripped over nothing and face planted onto a pillow that I was playing with… I looked up confused (it didn’t hurt) because my mind didn’t catch up to what just happened and mommy said, as she was giggling, “Don’t worry, even mommy can’t walk across a flat, clutterless, stable surface and not find something to trip over!”

Last night daddy and I went to go get treats … mommy has kept me in the house all week since I have been sick, so I needed to get out.  Daddy and I went to get treats since I kept my underwear dry all day and mommy’s eyes looked surprised when I came back with a box full of cupcakes!  She muttered something about “so much for trying to get you healthy.”  I don’t get it… cupcakes are like bread… isn’t that healthy enough?!  I was quite pleased with it and so was daddy!  I guess girls think differently!

neon sign March 25, 2009

Apparently, we have a bright, flashing neon sign above our house that says “all sicknesses welcome!”  Jim, Josiah and Eva all have a wet cough!  *sigh*  So much for trying to keep them all healthy!  But at least the kids didn’t get it from somewhere outside the house.  Jim actually brought it home from work!  He has been sick since Saturday!  Josiah and Eva started showing signs on Sunday and now I am up all night from the coughing trio!

But in good news, Eva now weight 10 lbs 13 oz!

White cheese March 24, 2009

Filed under: Josiah David — jimbaxa @ 12:17 pm

Josiah likes to pick out his breakfast in the morning.  This morning he deliberated in the middle of the kitchen for a minute ran to open the fridge door and pointed excitedly asking for cheese.  I thought “at least it is healthier than candy or sweets”, so I agreed he could have some cheese.  I reached in and grabbed the brick of cheddar and he said “no, no, no… white cheese” as he pointed to the mozzarella cheese.

last night! March 23, 2009

pict0522 Last night was a big night for me!  Last night was the first night that I slept in my room (except for nap time).  Mommy and daddy decided that since I stopped choking at night that I am safe to go in my room!  Mommy seemed excited at first until the room seemed less crowded and then she was lonely for me… and daddy missed me too!  But I am a big girl and they had to “let go” sometime.  I still try and get them to let me stay in their bed, but they always put me in the craddle and now they put me in a bigger bed that they call a crib!  I didn’t like being in a room by myself, but mommy says I only woke up once in frustration and I was fine after she turned on my crib lights.  Grandma and grandpa bought me a toy that attaches to my crib while I was in the hospital, so it is a big, familiar comfort to me to have it!  I love it!  It lights up, plays music and has a monkey that swings back and forth!  It is my favorite toy… well, beside Josiah!

delayed results March 19, 2009

Sorry for the long delay in posts recently.  I have been having troubles with getting a post to work

Jim had his work review and it was positive.  Praise God for His grace as even though the past few months have been nuts Jim still pleased his boss!  What a blessing!!!

Josiah is enjoying Skype like crazy!  He has enjoyed calling family and reading books to them over the video.  Potty training is almost done, but just almost.

Eva PASSED her swallow study!  Yay!  Sadly though, she doesn’t like the idea of nursing instead of a bottle.  So, the feeling of feeding twins is still there.  *sigh*  She has no idea how much she is loved!

I am just hanging out around the house.  I try to keep Eva home since it is RSV season and also strep, flu and colds are running rampant in our city, so home bound it is!

two ‘nakes March 15, 2009

Filed under: Josiah David — jimbaxa @ 10:59 pm

Saturday Jim and Josiah had a “daddy day” and went to the zoo.  Josiah came back with the most interesting news.  He said he saw “two ‘nakes”.  When I asked Jim about the “two ‘nakes” he said “yeah, we saw two snakes… and a few more!”  Apparently, 20+ snakes wasn’t cool for Josiah… it had to be 2!

laughing March 15, 2009

We started something called Skype video phone calls with Jim’s family since we can only see them every couple months.  Well, Eva was the first to talk to Jim’s parents on Sunday and they smiled and said “hi Eva!” and then Eva started laughing hysterically!  Every time her grandparents spoke, or moved even, she would burst into a roar of laughter!  She did this for about 5 minutes!!!  We weren’t sure what exactly it was that set her off to begin with, but it was fun to watch her interact with her grandparents and enjoying them even though they are states apart.

my baby! March 11, 2009

Filed under: Eva Grace, Josiah David — jimbaxa @ 6:36 pm

Eva has been sitting in her highchair as we start bracing her to start solids within the next month or two!  She currently has almost all the pre-requisits accomplished except the desire for our food, which the highchair will give her a good view of that.  Anyway, the other night I put Eva in her high chair and pushed it up to the table so she could ‘talk’ to us and Josiah was not pleased with her location.  So he grabbed her chair and pulled it right next to him and declared “my baby!”

Josiah’s perspective March 9, 2009

pict0484I have been talking like crazy lately.  I make mom and dad laugh all the time!  I also protect Eva.  She is my baby!  I also go with daddy to see his out-patients… I am his assisstant… plus our patients give me presents!   They think I am cute!  I am learning to count and my ABCs, but I don’t like shapes and colors.  I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer… playing outside is great!
