I’m a big kid now! February 23, 2009

We weighed Eva today and our little girl is now 9 lbs!!!!!!  Praise to our Lord!  Eva’s personality is coming out in strides and bounds.  She is very chatty and quite the little social butterfly.  I found she likes smiling for people in anticipation for their reaction.  She loves her brother and daddy… I am not sure if she is a daddy’s girl or Josiah’s girl.  She for sure isn’t a mommy’s girl, because she almost always chooses one of the guys, but as to which one is first place to her I am not sure.  They are both held captive by her coos, eyes and smiles… and she knows it!

Josiah, calling from bed: “daddy!!”

Daddy:  “what?”

Josiah: “mom!”  (translation: I want mom)

Daddy: “why did you call for me?  why didn’t you just call for mom?”

short pause

Josiah: “mom!!”

Mom: “yes?”

Josiah: “umm, hmm?”

Today I was reminded of how sweet and obedient Josiah can be… when he chooses to be.  Josiah has been so sweet to Eva and I these past few days and today he was adorable when he went to take his nap.  He went upstairs smiling and saying “nigh, luh” (translation: good night, I love you)   and sat on his bed, but when he realized “Dog” was not in bed with him he called “mom” and I stood at his door and he said in the sweetest tone “Dog, please!”  I went and got his stuffed animal that he cherishes so dearly and he looked at me with a HUGE smile and sparkles in his eyes as he said “thanks mom!”  No, I didn’t tell him to say thank you… he did that on his own!

in a percentile February 16, 2009

PRAISE GOD Eva is in the 3rd percentile in height and weight!!!!! This is a first for her!!!!! She weighed in at 8lbs 6oz. Height was 21 1/2 inches! Once she is over her cold we are suppose to call in to see about another swallow study within the next… oh, two weeks or so! Jim and I are praying that she passes and then she can start nursing and I won’t feel like I have twins (pumping and then bottle feeding)!

postponed… update soon to follow February 15, 2009

Filed under: Eva Grace — jimbaxa @ 10:53 pm

Due to snow covered roads on Friday, Eva’s appointment was postponed to Monday afternoon.  I am expecting somewhere between 8 and 8 1/2 lbs.  With her little bug, that was graciously shared by her brother, she is throwing up quite a bit… actually a small amount with her history in mind, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she is maintaining or lost a little over the past few days.  But she is gaining when she is healthly and that is the vital part.

from one to two! February 11, 2009

Now both kids are sick.  Eva got sick last night.  Josiah is still coughing pretty bad, it was so bad the other night he actually threw up!  Poor baby!  I will probably not blog for the next few days since they are both miserable.

A couple weeks ago Jim and Josiah went to a basketball game.  The teams were the Bluejays and Bulldogs.  Jim was rooting for the bluejays and kept telling Josiah about them hoping to convince our two year old to cheer for them as well.  The bluejays came in and Josiah and Jim cheered.  Jim was pleased with Josiah’s “understanding.”  Then the bulldogs were announced and Josiah started stouting “dog!” and making barking sounds!
