After one week I can finally say I am better from that stomach bug!!! Jim and I got sick last Friday night with a stomach bug and now I finally feel normal again. How bad was it? Well, it took until Thursday for me to even have a small desire to eat! Praise God for designing our bodies to heal! Jim felt better than I did before I did. He has such a great immune system!
mommy’s birthday January 31, 2009
Tomorrow is mommy’s birthday… she will be 22. That’s old!!! Daddy took mommy on a date yesterday while we went to Kaylin’s house… she is a fun babysitter! She gave me (Josiah) cookie dough and pizza… with mommy’s permission of course. Then she gave me (Eva) two whole bottles! I was nice to her and only threw up a little! She is fun! Then tomorrow we are taking mommy to grandma’s house for lunch.
I, Josiah, love it when mommy gives me her candy. I love it when she puts music on and we dance together. I love it when she gives me a bubble bath. I love it when we read together. I love it when we do puzzles or color. I love it when she makes my favorite lunch… anything with cheese! I love it when she lets me watch a movie… especially Nemo! I love it when we go to the playground! I love my mommy!
I, Eva, love it when mommy gives me a bottle! I love it when she gives me a bath, even more so when she lets me relax in it for a while. I love it when she sits and talks with me! I love it when she puts me in the swing instead of the horrible time on my tummy! I love it when she changes my diapers… she knows I hate a dirty diaper. I love it that she shares daddy… I think I want to marry daddy.

overdue update January 30, 2009
Sorry for the long delay. We have been focusing on a few things around here, but I thought I would do a quick update on everyone.
Eva is now 8 lbs!!! YAY!!! The Lord is good! She has a great appetite and sleeps well now! Well, she was a too good of a sleeper before since she wouldn’t wake up to eat, but now she will wake up! Never thought we would be excited about interrupted sleep!
Josiah is active as ever. He is becoming “independent”… or at least he thinks so. It is adorable watching him take his dirty dishes to the sink or automatically take Eva’s diaper to the trash when I am changing her. Little things like that.
Jim is getting ready for his reveiw at work. He is, according to his work numbers, set for a good reveiw this year… actually his boss and her boss are already estatic. Praise God! His numbers, I found out yesterday, are one of the best numbers the company has in the nation. Praise the Lord for a husband who works diligently for His glory.
I am busy trying to get the house and pumping into a routine with two kids now. We almost have a routine down… I would probably say another couple weeks and we should be set!

Since Jim and I were sick this past weekend my parents took the kids to avoid them, especially Eva, from getting sick. My mom told me that my dad fell asleep in the living room where Eva was napping. My dad… well, let’s just say he could be a professional snorer (I love you dad!) and Josiah was irritated that grandpa was being too loud. So Josiah hushed grandpa as he slept. Josiah got even more irritated when grandpa stilled snored! So Josiah told grandpa to be quiet again and grandpa stilled snored. Thankfully someone intervened before Josiah went ballistic!

Miss Eva surprised us yesterday by rolling over! She was put on her tummy for her first official tummy time (I held out to make sure it wouldn’t hurt her surgery scars) and she was MAD to be… well, for one thing, put down, but she was even more upset that it was on her stomach. So she rolled over. I thought maybe I put her down wrong, so I placed her back on her stomach and made sure that she was put on her tummy right and her arms were in the right spot. She rolled over again!!! So, I started squealing and scared her… poor baby, then daddy came home and wanted to see. She rolled over for daddy!!! 2 1/2 months old and 7 lbs 9.5 oz!!!

How gracious is our creator to have Eva be born in a day and age whre she could still have a chance at a long life!!!!

oh, the mind of a two year old January 23, 2009
The whole family went to the bank today so Josiah could make a deposit and Eva could open an account. Josiah was quite grown up about letting them “take his money.” He handed all the change to the teller and told her he was depositing it. Mommy and daddy were to just watch and not say anything.
Josiah grabbed his back pack and put it on. He started walking away from me and said “bye!” I looked at him and asked “oh, are you going to grandma’s?” “No, uncle Tommy’s.” (for those who don’t know, uncle Tommy still lives at home… he is in middle school)
He also enjoys giving Eva random hugs and kisses… never mind mommy or daddy though.

Eva saw her pediatric surgeon today (the pyloric stenosis repair) and he said she looks perfect!!! YAY!!!! She is done seeing her surgeons!!! She only sees her primary and a cardiologist now!!! She sees her primary in a couple weeks and her cardiologist in about 4 months!!! Woohoo!!! The Lord is GOOD!!!
Update on Josiah January 22, 2009
Josiah has been enjoying staying home over these past few days. He is such a home body! Although he loves going out and doing stuff, he also is content to just stay home and play. He is also taking off in the potty training!!! YAY!!! We are excited about that… he just needs help during the nap/bedtime. He is so excited… we went to the mall on Tuesday and he kept his underwear dry the whole time. He was excited about that, as was mommy!
Josiah is also enjoying the benefits of being a big brother. He loves “talking” with Eva and giving her kisses. He is a good big brother!
