OK, a couple people have asked this question and for the record this is for those who have asked or were going to ask. Jim and I are not asking for gifts in anyway, but this is informational purposes only to those who have expressed desire to get something for Eva. Please do not feel obligated in any way to buy ANYTHING! To our dear Christian friends just pray for her salvation, that is our deepest desire for her. Just love her. That is a gift to have a true love for someone where you don’t lie even if it hurts them is gift you can give her that we will cherish. So, here is the answer to the question that has been asked:
What will Eva need as far as material things? updated 6/30 a few items have been met from gender neutral clothes that I found in the back of our storage! Yay!
Well, to be quite honest, not too much. For the first… 5-6 months she will need pants (without the flowers or words on the tush, I really don’t like that look of drawing attention to that area) 0-3 & 3-6 mo and capris (3-6 mo), long sleeved shirts and shirts for spring (short sleeved, but not sleeveless), a couple pjs, maybe girly socks since white one are plenty from Josiah, maybe a couple girly onsies, gloves and a sweater for wearing inside … that may be it. A lot of Josiah’s onsies where white, so those are neutral. We have a enough pink blankets and all the furniture items. I am sure that she will get some cute winter dresses since that is what girls tend to get, but these again are not necessary since we wear nice jeans and shirts to church and the only time we really dress up is for a wedding. We will not be piercing her ears for several reasons, so she will not need those… just jewelry in general since those are a choking hazard to her and Josiah (yes, he still puts things in his mouth! UGH!). Headbands and bows would be fun, but not necessary. I hope this answers the question to those who asked. She really doesn’t need much. When my parents were doing Foster Care the social worker said a child only really NEEDS 10 mix and match clothing items. Yes, I am the same way with Josiah. I really like mix and match items like khakis and jeans and shirts. We are a very casual family and I like having mix and match that way if Josiah or Eva get their pants dirty I only have to change their pants and not the whole outfit. I am a 2 piece outfit person to save laundry.
