Yesterday we were showing pictures to Josiah of what the baby looks like and pointing out fingers, hands, eyes, etc… Josiah loved comparing the picture to himself! Then we reminded him that the baby is growing bigger in mommy’s belly. He then cuddled up to my belly and started patting the baby! He also would look at the pictures that we showed him and kiss the baby!
picasa April 23, 2008
Hey Everyone,
I updated our pictures in Picasa! The new pictures are mostly of our new carpet (finally!) and how Josiah loves to just sit and lay on it!
excited April 23, 2008
Josiah is getting more and more excited about the baby. He wants to read about the baby and talk about the baby. But I think he is getting a little annoyed that the baby we keep talking about has not come out of mommy’s tummy to play. Once the baby is born though Jim and I will have to watch Josiah carefully so he doesn’t crush the baby trying to give kisses. It is exciting to watch him though be excited about a baby!
heart April 22, 2008
Today we had a doctors appointment. We weren’t expecting much. My uterus is tilted and therefore we have not been able to pick up a heartbeat since the uterus is tilted towards my back. (sorry if that is tmi for anyone) We knew the doctor was going to use a doppler to try and hear that precious sound. Well, much to my surprise, he picked it up rather quickly! I was ready to cry! Our little one had a heartbeat that ranged 148-169! Now, before I get the fast heartbeat is a girl thing, Josiah had a fast heart rate as well. I have a fast heart rate also.
We have an ultrasound set up for the 24th of June and another doctors appointment May 20th! Yes, we are hoping to find out. We have all the boy stuff we need, but if it is a girl we got nothin’! So we are hoping to find out. We figure it is either a surprise at 20 or 40 weeks. This way if it is a girl she would have something besides blue/sports style clothes to wear.
Josiah new favorite music video April 22, 2008
This is a new favorite video that Josiah loves. It is a song by veggietales that make fun of the bands Backstreet Boy and N’Sync. Hence the band name “Boys in the Sink.”
1,2, ahhh! April 22, 2008
Josiah loves to tackle Jim and I. Last night, for at least 30 minutes. He tackled me. He would stand by my waist and sign ‘more’, I would then count to three and he would just fall on me! Then we would laugh and tickle each other, then he would stand up and we would start at step 1 all over again!
baby :( April 19, 2008
Today Jim went to an abortion clinic that he doesn’t usually go to. Since it was a nice day he took Josiah with him. A friend of Jim’s showed Josiah her model baby that is the size of a baby at 11 weeks gestation. Josiah took this baby and carried it up and down the sidewalk and would show it to everyone who was willing to see. Then a truth truck came (a truck that travels around with pictures of aborted babies on it) and Josiah saw the pictures and did a pouchy lip and looked at Jim with a concerned look and said “baby?” as if to say “who hurt the baby?”. No one told him it was a baby, he just knew right away that what he saw, covered in blood, was a baby. Jim said Josiah was ready to cry at the thought that someone would hurt a baby. Jim then said “God says that we need to protect those who can not speak for themselves. Should we protect the baby?” Josiah then smiled, shook his head and said “yeah.”
God is working in my baby’s heart to let him see the horrors of sin! For this I am excited! I just pray that he would understand that he has sinned and is in need of a savior. It will bring great joy to, Lord willing, see a day in our son’s life where he recognizes his sinful condition before a holy and righteous God and then repents and trusts in Christ’s finished work on the cross as a sacrifice for sin.
no signs! April 18, 2008
Today is very exciting day in our house! Today I am 10 1/2 weeks along with our little one! Why is this so exciting? I am 10 1/2 weeks and all looks well! Even with Josiah I showed signs of possible miscarriage before this time, but with this one there are no sad signs! Praise the Lord, for He sustains life and has sustained our little one’s!
Yes, for those of you who will email me and ask, I am still ‘rejoicing’ in morning sickness. But God is gracious and my “good days” are growing in number and bad days are becoming farther apart slowly, but it is tapering off!
